National Kidney Foundation: 360 Integrated Campaign
Role: CD/Copywriter
This campaign straddled traditional marketing and healthcare pretty neatly. So if you’ve already looked through it in my regular work, feel free to skip ahead. Otherwise, read on…
Chronic Kidney Disease is the 9th leading cause of death in the U.S., but no one knows about it. Inspired by the tattoos donors and recipients often get to commemorate a transplant, we created an integrated campaign to raise awareness - including an event at SXSW featuring wearable tech, live tattoo sessions at the New York Historical Society, and collaborations with some of the country's top tattoo artists.
Tech Tattoos & SXSW
Collaborating with celebrity tattoo artist Tommy Helm and Northwestern University, we created the first-ever wearable tattoo to measure hydration levels, and took it to SXSW.
Putting an end to kidney disease, one tattoo at a time
A vintage Airstream served as a mobile tattoo parlor (that's a cowhide tattoo chair y'all), with a crew handing out tech and temporary tattoos designed by Tommy Helm while they talked about the importance of kidney health.
People posted selfies with their kidney tats for a chance to win real ink from a top artist.
Scars & Ink
Our Scars & Ink series (six episodes in all) told the incredible stories of kidney disease patients while they were getting inked by some of the country's top artists.
